The Real Estate Union in Islamic States organized the (Sustainable Endowments Forum - experiences and investment solutions). The forum was held on April 22nd, 2016 (15 Rajab 1437) in Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel Istanbul, Turkey.

The Forum was attended by a large number of persons interested in Islamic Endowments (waqfs) coming from several Muslim countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Somalia, Yemen and others. The audience was addressed by a large group of Saudi and Turkish speakers with expertise, personal practices and special studies in Endowments generally and in Islamic Endowments in particular.

Based on international Endowments/Foundations practices in developed countries, and based on what is beneficial in the history of Endowments in different Muslim countries, lecturers and speakers focused on Endowment practices that achieve financial sustainability. That is in addition to the practical experiences of the speakers themselves in establishing Endowments of financial sustainability.

Dr. Mohammed Yahya Mufarreh, Chairman of the Real Estate Union in Islamic States have expressed his happiness at the success of the Sustainable Endowments Forum, meetings and interventions made between attendees and speakers that extensively enriched information of both sides.

In light of the significant acceptance and demand, an agreement has been signed paralleled with a declaration that the First International Islamic Endowments Forum will be held, by the grace of God, on annual basis under the Real Estate Union with the participation, God willing, of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and of the Islamic Development Bank, as well as of other specialized and governmental organizations. The event is to be accompanied by a specialized Fair dedicated to those who provide services and investment products focusing on endowments in the Islamic world.
