The Media Observatory of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has documented Israel's crimes against Palestinians, highlighting the intensified targeting of schools sheltering displaced people, particularly in northern Gaza. Between December 10 and 16, 2024, the observatory recorded an unprecedented targeting of seven schools in seven days. Three of these schools—Holy Family, Al-Majda Waseela, and Jaffa—were sheltering displaced people in northern Gaza City. The Israeli occupation forces also bombed Owaida School in Beit Hanoun (northeast of the Strip), Ahmed Abdul Aziz School in Khan Younis (central Gaza), and Abu Asi School, which belongs to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Additionally, they bombed and set fire to a school in Beit Lahia (north), forcing the displaced to leave. Furthermore, the occupation forces demolished buildings in the northern part of the Strip, including the municipal building in Deir al-Balah. They also carried out massacres in the Nuseirat refugee camp and among displaced people's tents in Khan Younis. The total number of massacres committed by the occupation during this period reached 26.
The targeting of schools aims to terrorize displaced individuals who have sought refuge there, forcing them into displacement. At the same time, Israel, the occupying power, has issued 66 forced displacement orders affecting 87% of Gaza, covering 150 residential neighborhoods, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The office confirmed that 80% of the Strip remains under these orders.
